The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mozambique Stock Exchange (BVM), Salim Cripton Valá, challenged on 14, 2022 , the national sports clubs to bet on the Model of Sports Corporations (SAD'S) as a financing alternative and as a safe way to become self-sustainable.

Salim Valá made these considerations during the National Meeting of Reflection on Sports, organized by the Secretariat of State for Sports (SED), which brought together the various stakeholders of the Mozambican society to discuss the health of national sports and outline strategies to boost sports in the future.

The PCA of BVM alerted to the need to meet basic requirements such as: to become a sports corporation (company), to be in good financial health, to have organized accounting and audited accounts. Once these elements are met, the conditions will be created for the national clubs to be listed on the stock exchange and thus have access to financing through BVM.

Management is the big "Achilles' heel". What we came to say to the sports family in Mozambique is that we, as BVM, want to support this movement, but we don't want to "sell an empty box". It has to be well-managed, transparent companies that do business with ethics. There are clubs that tomorrow will want to become companies, to get on the stock exchange, and they will not meet the requirements. BVM and the SAD'S model will not be the panacea to sort out all the problems of the sports clubs in Mozambique, but it can help some.

"During the discussions that took place today, we retained that the big problems in sports are sports management, infrastructure, youth training, and financing. These problems can be overcome when the clubs are managed as efficient companies that seek alternative sources of income and forge sustainable partnerships.
It should be noted that BVM and SED initialed, in September 2020, a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at establishing a platform to operationalize the legal regime of Sports Corporations (SAD'S).
