As part of the celebrations of the international week of money that took place between 21 and 27 March around the world with the slogan: "Build your future, use your money intelligently", BVM held on 25 March 2022 a lecture at the Industrial and Commercial Institute of Matola, aimed at final-year students of the Accounting course.
In this action, BVM joined synergies with Child & Youth Finance International (CYFI), mentor entity of the Global Money Week initiative, which is dedicated to the promotion of financial inclusion, education for economic citizenship and responsible financial habits, as well as the promotion of youth entrepreneurship in children and young people around the world.
On the occasion, Elsa Leão, Head of the Financial Education Department at BVM, alerted the students to the need to make a conscious management of their finances, as well as to invest in savings and productive investment, always evaluating the risk propensity, so that the investment to be made does not become too costly and unrealistic.
As part of the efforts to promote financial inclusion, the event also served to raise awareness, on one hand, among the students of that technical and professional education institution, and on the other, to society in general about the importance of saving and safe investment, with the stock market as an alternative in promoting this desideratum.
On the occasion, the students, besides presenting issues related to the capital market and the Stock Exchange, shared their successful experiences in the area of entrepreneurship, including converting the Internet into a means of productive investment.
Note that these actions are part of the National Strategy for Financial Inclusion approved by the Government in 2016, which has as strategic objectives: I) enabling access and use of financial services, II) strengthening the financial infrastructure, and III) consumer protection and financial education.
